My interest in home renovation started as a teenager while working for a property owner in the historic Waldo-Brookside area of Kansas City. I spent my summers and weekends doing whatever was asked of me and picking up whatever new skill I could ... Interior and exterior painting, refinishing doors and trim, tile work, detailed cleaning, yard cleanup and more — and I loved all of it. Since then, I’ve always been looking for my next project.

Most recently, my interests and skills led me to manage the facility and operations of a 14,000 sq. ft women-owned and operated business with a national reputation. Some skills I’ve picked up along the way include: 

• Overseeing and managing preventive maintenance and repairs

• Assessing property issues and executing remediation plans  

• Coordinating renovations and improvement projects 

• Budgeting for repairs, maintenance, supplies, and equipment

• Negotiating contracts with specialists (architect, HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
